CANLI VERİ

Schumann Resonance Live

72-hour ELF spectrogram from the Tomsk (SOS-70) station; 0-40 Hz band, UTC time axis and amplitude color scale. The page auto-refreshes every 10 minutes.

Short answer

Global electromagnetic waves between the Earth surface and the ionosphere — the Schumann resonance — are tracked live here. The fundamental frequency is ~7.83 Hz; the spectrogram below covers the last 72 hours from the Space Observing System (SOS-70) station in Tomsk.

01 — Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the Schumann resonance?

A series of electromagnetic waves formed between the Earth surface and the ionosphere, sustained by continuous global lightning activity. Theoretically predicted by Winfried Otto Schumann in 1952 and measured in the 1960s, its fundamental mode is about 7.83 Hz.

What is the Schumann resonance today?

The fundamental frequency remains ~7.83 Hz — a fixed physical property. Natural daily fluctuation is around ±0.1-0.5 Hz. The bright horizontal line in the 7-8 Hz band on the live chart is the first mode.

What do the colors mean?

The color scale represents amplitude (signal strength): dark blue low, green-yellow medium, red-white high activity. The vertical axis shows frequency (Hz), the horizontal axis time (UTC).

Why do the bands intensify sometimes?

Global lightning activity (especially tropical Africa, Asia and America), solar-driven ionosphere changes and day-night transitions continuously vary amplitude. Bright vertical stripes along the chart are usually strong thunderstorm clusters passing the station.

How do I read it in Turkey time?

The time axis is UTC. Add +3 in Turkish summer time (UTC+3) and +2 in winter time (UTC+2). The "now" edge is always the rightmost point of the chart.

Is it used for earthquake prediction?

No. There is no repeatable, verified relationship between Schumann resonance and earthquakes that converts into prediction. Claims linking specific bands to quakes are not supported by the scientific literature.

Does it affect health?

The Schumann resonance is a natural, extremely weak electromagnetic background. Band amplifications observed in charts have no documented direct health effect; the field strength is many orders of magnitude below everyday artificial sources.

Why does the chart look empty or dark sometimes?

The window is 72 hours; as time advances the right edge may show the not-yet-received region. Station maintenance or data gaps freeze the edges; the freshest frame arrives when the page refreshes.

How often is the data updated?

Our server checks the source spectrogram at most every 10 minutes; the image cache on the page refreshes automatically. The timestamp of the frame is stated in the source caption.
